Here is a list of what I consider the best television of the holiday season. You can always just bookmark this page and keep checking back, too!
Obviously, this schedule is subject to change (and I'll keep updating as we go), but as of the time of posting, below is what is officially listed as per TV Guide and the individual network websites.
All times listed are Eastern.
Like every other year, I also BOLDED in RED what I consider the "can't miss" items, such as the once-a-year airings of Wizard of Oz or It's a Wonderful Life. Some are repeated so often in the schedule that the whole list would be red, so I highlighted them only on their first few showings, but of course, watch when you can! If you feel something I didn't consider should be red, please comment below! I'd love to hear about your traditional "required" viewing.
Items Of Note for 2024:
"A Charlie Brown Christmas" will not air on network TV again this year. It is only available on Apple TV+ and will only be free for non-subscribers on December 14th and 15th. Don't miss it!
FreeForm's "25 Days of Christmas" begins on December 1st! Between Halloween and Christmas, Freeform has great marathons!
"The Wizard of Oz" airs on Thanksgiving (Nov 28) at 8PM on TBS. It will also air the day after, November 29, at 5:45PM. It will also air on Saturday, Dec 7, at 10pm and Sunday, Dec 8, at 1:45PM and 11:00PM on TBS. On Dec 15th, it will air on TNT at 7:45PM and 10:15PM. Also, it will air on TNT on Christmas Eve at 6:45PM, and again on New Year's Eve at 6:00AM and 10:45AM.
"It's a Wonderful Life" airs on NBC on Christmas Eve (Dec 24) at 8:00PM.
"A Christmas Story" marathon is again on TBS and TNT this year! It begins at 8 PM on TBS and 9 PM on TNT on Christmas Eve. The final showings air at 6 PM on Christmas Day on TBS and 7 PM on TNT.
