Disney's Monstober debuted in 2012 on The Disney Channel. Originally named Disney Channel's Hauntober, and later in 2008 Wiz-tober, this nightly marathon of Halloween-related movies debuted back in 2005. The Wiztober name changed to Monstober in 2012 to prepare for the Girl vs Monster premiere. The Monstober promotion ended after the 2016 Halloween season.
Since then, The Disney Channel has called their annual Halloween programming "The Countdown to Halloween."
